The benefits of sisal carpet

Sisal offers practically everything in one single package. It’s incredibly hard-wearing qualities are thanks to the sisal agave fibres which can withstand the wear from heavy shoes and furniture. Despite their durability, sisal carpets can be extremely soft, making them suited to lounges, dining rooms and bedrooms. The natural rustic look of sisal carpet is signature; its neutral tones do a great job of complimenting most interiors while creating a sense of space. Is sisal carpet eco-friendly?

Yes, sisal carpets are made from 100% natural fibres found in the tropical Agave plant and are completely biodegradable. Grown primarily in Mexico, Brazil and parts of West Africa, sisal fibres are ethically processed and use very little in the way of synthetic additives, toxic dyes and any other environmentally harmful products. In fact, sisal carpets are known to be naturally stain resistant and require little to no additional stain remover. Where is sisal carpet made?

This depends on the manufacturer of the carpet. Sisal fibres are usually sourced from overseas and then weaved into a sisal carpet at the manufacturer’s workshop.
